Parade Notification Update – New Britain Borough

With much consideration with these extremely high temperatures predicted for tomorrow, and the heat stroke casualties at similar events yesterday, our Council Members, Floats, and Participants who planned be in the parade, have made a safety decision for New Britain Borough to pull out of the 4th of July Tri-Municipality Parade.

As of today, the parade is still a ‘go’ as per New Britain Township’s Event Coordinator.

Tom Price (President of Council) and Loren Frasco (Vice-President of Council) want everyone to know that Governor Josh Shapiro, as of now, is coming to New Britain Borough tomorrow. He will be arriving around 9:00am at Town Center to talk to the crowd before the Parade. He will be here from 9:00am to about 9:45am.

Please stay hydrated and know your limits in this extreme heat!

The weather forecasters have the temperatures tomorrow at 85 degrees by 8:00am and 90 degrees by 10:00am … with a Heat Index well over 100 degrees.
