Borough Offices Closed for Presidents’ Day
On Monday, February 20th, Borough offices will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day. They will reopen at 8:30am on Tuesday, February 21st.

New Britain Borough Has Declared a Snow Emergency for the Ongoing Winter Storm. The Predictions are 6” – 12” of Accumulation by Thursday Night.
Residents Must Keep All Vehicles off the Roadways to allow for snow plowing and emergency management teams to do their jobs. Please DO NOT DRIVE unless absolutely necessary! If you choose to drive, Please be aware that there is Expected to be Very Dangerous Driving Conditions, including possible White Out Conditions & High Winds. SAFETY FIRST! Please consider your safety as well as the safety of others before you decide to drive.
New Britain Borough Working to Form Shade Tree Commission
New Britain Borough is investigating the formation of a Shade Tree Commission, and is putting out a public call for volunteers.
The expected goals of the group will be to advise Council on matters related to shade trees and plantings in the Borough rights of way as well as to review the vegetation proposed in land development plans.

Borough Approves Balanced Budget with No Tax Increase
At its December 2016 meeting, Borough Council approved a 2017 budget that makes no use of Borough savings (fund balance). Council also approved the 2017 Tax Ordinance at its January meeting, which has no tax increase for the year.
Borough Council, staff and volunteers will continue to work in 2017 to ensure that taxpayer funds are used efficiently and effectively.

Barricade Demonstration Videos
On October 19th, the Borough held a demonstration of its proposed permanent barricade on Matthews Ave. The videos below show a police vehicle and large truck passing over the posts without damage to the vehicles or posts.

Keeley Avenue Covered Bridge Closure
The Covered Bridge on Keeley Avenue will be closed for repairs from October 17 – October 21, 2016. Detour signs will be posted. Please allow extra time for your commute during this time.
