DART WEST is in service!  Announcing the extension of the Dart local bus service from Del Val University to the New Britain Village Square (shopping center near the intersection of Butler Ave. & County Line).  Weekday local Dart West bus service began on 1/6/20 along Business Route 202 (Butler Ave) through New Britain Borough, Chalfont Borough, and New Britain Township.  The DART WEST will connect with the Doylestown Dart at Del Val University.  $1 each way with no transfer charges between Dart West & Dart Doylestown, and seniors 65 or older ride free!  Tokens available on the bus; $10 for 12 tokens.  Please refer to the schedule or visit www.bctransport.org for more information.

The Annual Central Bucks Regional Police Department Blood Drive is scheduled for January 17, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at 57 W. Court St., Doylestown.  Please be a lifeline.  Give blood.

The Keeley Avenue trail project began last week with some tree/brush removal.  Weather permitting and in between holidays, the contractor will be working this week (12/30/19 thru 1/3/20) along Sioux Road to grade and pave the first trail section.  Please call the Roadmaster, Mark Hintenlang, at 267-254-2782 with any questions/comments.

Trash and recycling will be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 2nd, due to the New Years Day holiday this week.

Advanced Disposal has a list of a few observed holidays, and when one falls on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of any given week during the year, the Borough’s trash service is moved to Thursday on that week. Any questions, please call Advanced at 610-440-3700.

Please join the NBB Historic Preservation Committee in honoring our Veterans buried in the NBB Baptist Church cemetery located at the corner of Butler Ave. & Tamenend Ave.  The ceremony will begin at the Walter Harvey War Memorial on the grounds of the church.  At the conclusion, guests will be invited to place a wreath on the graves of a Veteran.  Please arrive by 11:45 AM and join us to remember our Fallen Heroes. 

Please join your neighbors and friends tonight at the Town Center for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration! The live music begins at 6:30pm and Santa & Mrs. Claus are expected to arrive around 7:00pm. There will be hot chocolate, food, and fun for all! Please bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Toys for Tots drive. See you there!

Due to inclement weather on Monday, Advanced Disposal has to reschedule this week’s trash & recycling pick-up to Thursday, Dec. 5th.

The Draft 2020 Budget is now available for public comment, and will be considered at the December 3rd Borough Council meeting.  The budget can be found at the link below, or by stopping at the borough administration office.

10Ai – Draft 2020 Budget

New Britain Borough seeks a PT Admin Assistant.  This is a paid position without benefits that requires 20-25 hours per week.  Scheduling is flexible but will initially need to be during our business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Primary duties include answering and resolving the questions and concerns of Borough residents, businesses and visitors as well as basic clerical support including taking deposits to the bank, mailing payment checks, processing mail.  A full position description can be found at:

The position offers no paid benefits, but does allow for flex scheduling within the Borough’s normal hours of operation.  Starting pay will depend on applicant qualifications and background, but is expected to be in the range of $12-$18 per hour.

A loose manhole cover on Cherokee Rd., and the overly indented manhole cover near the intersection of Tamenend Ave & Sioux Rd. will both be fixed by BCWSA within the next few weeks.
