2020 Budget Available for Public Review and Comment
The Draft 2020 Budget is now available for public comment, and will be considered at the December 3rd Borough Council meeting. The budget can be found at the link below, or by stopping at the borough administration office.
New Britain Borough Seeks PT Admin Assistant
New Britain Borough seeks a PT Admin Assistant. This is a paid position without benefits that requires 20-25 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible but will initially need to be during our business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm.
Primary duties include answering and resolving the questions and concerns of Borough residents, businesses and visitors as well as basic clerical support including taking deposits to the bank, mailing payment checks, processing mail. A full position description can be found at:

The position offers no paid benefits, but does allow for flex scheduling within the Borough’s normal hours of operation. Starting pay will depend on applicant qualifications and background, but is expected to be in the range of $12-$18 per hour.

Manhole cover issues on Cherokee & Tamenend scheduled to be fixed.
A loose manhole cover on Cherokee Rd., and the overly indented manhole cover near the intersection of Tamenend Ave & Sioux Rd. will both be fixed by BCWSA within the next few weeks.

Trash pick-up moved to Thursday this week.
Due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, the Borough’s trash & recycling pick-up day has been moved to Thursday this week. Please refer to the upcoming newsletter (will be mailed out this month) for holiday trash scheduling guidelines. Thank you.
Paving Work on N. Tamenend 8/29/19
Please note that N. Tamenend paving work will commence on Thursday (8/29/19 – weather permitting). Work will consist of installing piping at the terminus (west of Iroquois Road), and milling & paving of the remaining roadway area to Butler Avenue. Please do not park on the roadway, the contractor will work with you to get cars in and out of driveways. Please call the Roadmaster, Mark Hintenlang, (267-254-2782) with any questions or concerns.
New Britain Borough Seeks Intern for Fall 2019
New Britain Borough seeks an intern for its Fall 2019 Internship Period (August 2019 to December 2019). This is a paid position (via stipend at the end of the internship based on performance) that requires 15-20 hours per week.
The Borough tries to tailor intern projects and activities to the interest of the applicant. Previous intern projects include mapping the Borough Nature Preserve, assisting with the creation and oversight of community events, grant applications, and budget development.
