Snow Emergency Declaration
New Britain Borough has declared a Snow Emergency beginning Saturday, January 24th at 6:00pm until 5pm Monday, January 26th, 2026.
Our Public Works crews will be working hard to keep roads safe. Please be patient with our Public Works Department and Office Staff as we are all trying to get through this winter storm safely.
Reminder for our Residents:
– Help keep our community safe by clearing snow around nearby fire hydrants.
– Please DO NOT DRIVE unless absolutely necessary!
– Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after snowfall ends.
– Please do not shovel or snow blow snow into the street.
– Vehicles CANNOT be parked on roadways until the emergency is over. Please keep streets clear of parked cars to help with plowing and ensure emergency vehicles can get through.
In addition, the Borough Administration office will be closed on Monday, January 26th, 2026, for the safety of our staff.
