Purpose
Friends of New Britain Parks is a Supporting Organization, as described in Section 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, organized and at all times operated exclusively for the benefit of, or to carry out the purposes of, New Britain Borough’s public parks, Wilma Quinlan Nature Preserve, and other public recreational facilities and spaces owned by the Borough.
Responsibilities
1. Raise money from public and private sources for the maintenance and improvement of New Britain Borough parks
2. Distribute, with Borough Council’s approval, any raised monies or donations made for the above purposes.
3. Make quarterly reports to Borough Council on the overall fund balance as well as any monies raised, donated, earmarked, or dispersed.
Membership
The FONBP Board Directors shall be comprised of at least three members at all times. All Directors are appointed by Borough Council. There is no limit to the number of Directors. Directors do not need to be Borough residents.
