Meeting Times
The Community Events Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM (as needed) in the Administration Building located at 45 Keeley Avenue.
Purpose
The Community Events Committee advises Borough Council on matters related to community events and provides for the organization and coordination of such events.
Responsibilities
- Create, plan, organize and staff specific Borough -sponsored community events.
- Establish separate ad-hoc committees, as needed, for Borough-sponsored events.
- Coordinate with other Borough committees, and assist as needed, with their events.
- Coordinate with, and assist, outside organizations, including, but not limited to, the New Britain Civic Association, with their events held in the Borough.
- Coordinate, with other committees and Borough staff, the preparation and maintenance of a community events calendar, which calendar shall be subject to the control and review of Borough Council or its designee.
- Facilitate the marketing, promotion, and publicizing of Borough events, the materials for which shall be subject to the review and approval of Borough Council or its designee.
Membership
The Community Events Committee’s membership is open to Borough residents, business owners, or others with an interest. There is no cap on the number of members. No more than three members of Council may serve on this committee, including the Council liaison, who may be a voting member.
