Meeting Time

The organization meets on an as-needed basis in Burkart Hall located at 56 Keeley Avenue.  (generally the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:30PM).

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Friends of New Britain Parks is to serve as a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, organized and at all times operated exclusively for the benefit of, or to carry out the purposes of, the public parks, nature preserve (including specifically the Wilma Quinlan Nature Preserve) and other public recreational facilities and spaces owned by the Borough of New Britain.

The New Britain Parks shall include, but not be limited to, the Wilma Quinlan Nature Preserve and Orchard Park.  This corporate charity is charged with:

  • Raising money from public and private sources for the maintenance of, and improvements to, the New Britain Parks;
  • Investing and reinvesting all funds entrusted to it;
  • Taking such actions as it thinks appropriate for an endowment with the funds raised and;
  • With prior approval of New Britain Borough Council first obtained, distribute and/or apply the net income and principal in furtherance of the Corporate Purpose and for no other purpose.

You’re also welcome to mail donations, or stop by the Borough office.  Donations can be made via cash or check, and can remain anonymous if so desired.
